The MERIANTO PT partition wall module profiles are made out of MDF, veneer or solid wood.
The standard profile width is 92 mm, but this can be altered/chosen depending on the thickness of the structural wall. In most cases, a profile width of 60 – 120 mm is used, but if desired a 300 mm-wide profile can also be manufactured. The standard profile thickness is 30 mm for MDF and veneer profiles and 42 mm for solid wood profiles.
The PT-M solution uses MDF or veneer as its material. The glass is fixed in the profile using the groove’s seals as shown. The profiles can be painted, stained, varnished, or veneered..
The PT-AL solution uses MDF, veneer or wood for its profile material. Glass is fixed in the profile groove with the metal fastening strip. Profiles can be painted, stained, varnished or veneered. The fastening strip can be made out of brushed or polished RST metal, painted or varnished steal, or painted or anodised aluminium.
PT-L profiles are made of solid wood. Glass is secured in the groove with a wooden fastening strip. Profiles can be painted, stained, varnished, oiled or waxed. Most are made of oak, birch, pine and beech.
The partition wall modules are manufactured in a factory and assembled on site. In order to ensure soundproofing, modules are installed with a special seal. The maximum size of the modules is determined by the filling material (glass), usually not exceeding 2600 x 3000 mm.
The profile type, the material, and the glass mounting solution used all allow partition wall solutions with the soundproofing, moisture resistance, strength, appearance and price to suit your requirements.
Materials – In addition to glass, the modules can use essentially any flat materials. As the most common material, the strength, soundproofing and transparency of glass are all universal and offer many possibilities. Laminated safety glass and/or tempered glass are used depending on safety and soundproofing requirements. Every type of glass can be frosted, taped and/or tinted.
Other materials can also be used, such as fabric-covered panels, veneered or painted panels, melamine, laminate or PVC panels, and other similar flat materials.
Doors – every type of interior door can be used in the walls – full glass, glazing, painted or veneered solutions, and sliding doors as well. The outer dimensions of the standard door frame are 2090×990/890/790mm, but doors can be custom-made to other dimensions. Any suitable locking solution and handle for full-glass and wooden doors can be used with our doors.
Electricity trunking – a simple option for the integration of plugs and switches into the wall is through the use of electricity trunks. The trunks are prepared according to the profile of the wall tubing, and are installed in an appropriate place in the wall. Electrical and data wiring trunking can be run both through the ceiling as well as the floor. The width of the trunking can be freely set, mostly in the range of 200-300 mm. The inner panel of the trunking can be removed for easy maintenance. Insulation wool ensures soundproofing in the trunking. In walls with very stringent soundproofing requirements, an additional internal partition is used in the trunking.
Mouldings – the partition wall is usually installed in a recess in a structural wall. The surrounding seams are filled according to fire safety and soundproofing requirements, either with wool, mounting foam or putty. Depending on the solution, the seam may either remain visible or hidden using a covering moulding. Necessary mouldings are usually wall components and belong to the product. Mouldings may have the same finish as the wall profiles or may also have, for example, the surrounding walls’ finish – depending on the client’s requirements.
Installation – Merianto offers a complete turnkey solution: measurement, manufacture, delivery and installation. Partition walls come together with Merianto’s Partition Wall installation guide, which means that customers who are familiar with construction work can easily carry out the installation of the wall modules themselves.
