Venetian blinds

Venetian blinds are slatted blinds made of aluminium or wood which move up and down using a mechanism. Further, the slats can be rotated around their axis. Although Venetian blinds are often negligently classified as office furnishings, those window coverings with a straightforward look might not be appear so cold and rigid. Moving the slats horizontally allows adjusting the amount of light in the room. In addition, the slats combined with light create cosy-looking graphic patterns on the walls and other surfaces which provide a nice effect in modern interiors.

In classical interiors, we recommend using wooden Venetian blinds in combination with textile curtains. Venetian blinds can be installed in moist rooms and on unconventionally shaped windows – and for certain window types – between the inner and outer glazing.

Functions

  • Protects from solar radiation
  • Ensures privacy
  • Serves as an interior design element
  • Controls the room temperature – practical for windows facing the sun

Materials

  • Aluminium
  • Wood

Installation options

Venetian blinds can be installed on the wall in front of the window, inside the window opening – and for certain window types – between the inner and outer glazing.

Control

Besides other methods, the Venetian blinds can be controlled with electrically powered drive – an ideal solution for windows which are difficult to access and/or located high.

Operation

The slats must be turned into open position while the blind is lifted or lowered. Pulling the control cord directly downwards lifts the slats and locks them using the cord locking. To lower the slats, release the control cord locking by pulling gently to the side, releasing the slats and allowing them to be lowered to the desired height.

Maintenance

It is recommended to clean Venetian blinds carefully with a brush or a moist cloth.
